Beckham-Backed Supplement Brand IM8 Secures $1 Billion Financing from General Catalyst

Prenetics has landed up to $1 billion to fuel its supplement brand IM8 — but the structure is the story: no equity, no dilution. General Catalyst funds the marketing and takes a capped slice of the revenue it generates.

Prenetics Global Limited (NASDAQ: PRE) has secured $1 billion in growth financing from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund (CVF) to scale IM8, its direct-to-consumer supplement brand co-founded by David Beckham, the company announced on July 14, 2026 from New York.

The money is earmarked for one thing: marketing and customer acquisition for IM8, which Prenetics calls “the fastest-growing premium supplement brand ever recorded.”

The Unusual Part: How the Deal Works

What makes this more than a standard raise is its structure. General Catalyst isn’t buying equity — it’s financing IM8’s growth engine directly.

Under the arrangement, General Catalyst funds up to 70% of IM8’s marketing spend each month, on a cohort basis. In return, it receives a capped share of the revenue those customers generate. Once General Catalyst recovers its investment plus a capped return on a given monthly cohort, all further value from those customers accrues entirely to IM8.

Crucially, the deal involves no equity issuance, no warrants, and no convertible instruments — meaning it funds growth without diluting existing shareholders. It’s a financing model built specifically for businesses where the economics of acquiring a customer are predictable and profitable.

“IM8 is a category-defining consumer health business, and the underlying cohort economics are among the strongest we’ve seen,” said Adit Swarup, Partner at General Catalyst.

The Numbers Behind It

Those “cohort economics” are the reason the deal exists. Prenetics disclosed a set of figures meant to show IM8’s marketing spend reliably pays for itself:

  • Every $1 spent acquiring customers has returned $1.44 in gross profit across mature cohorts;
  • IM8 currently ships roughly 200,000 servings a day — an order placed every 27 seconds;
  • June 2026 revenue of about $17 million;
  • Over 50 million servings delivered since the brand’s December 2024 launch, across 43 countries.

On the strength of that, Prenetics raised its 2026 revenue guidance to $210–220 million (from $190–210 million), and pointed to an expected $300 million annualized run-rate by year-end and $400 million-plus in full-year 2027 revenue.

“Every dollar we have ever spent acquiring customers has already returned $1.44 in gross profit,” said Danny Yeung, CEO of Prenetics and IM8 co-founder. “This partnership materially accelerates that path.”

The Brand and the Backers

IM8 sells science-backed daily nutrition, led by Daily Ultimate Essentials — a 90-ingredient daily foundation — and Daily Ultimate Longevity. New products are slated for Q4 2026 and Q1 2027, including an IM8 Hydration line and premium gummies, and the company says it has two active randomized controlled trials underway on gut health and longevity.

Beyond co-founder David Beckham, IM8’s roster of equity partners includes Giannis Antetokounmpo, Aryna Sabalenka, Ollie Bearman, Jay Shetty, and Inter Miami CF — a lineup that doubles as a marketing engine in its own right.

Why It Matters

Two things make this notable for the longevity space. First, the capital structure: non-dilutive, revenue-based marketing finance is becoming a favored tool for consumer-health brands with strong unit economics, and a $1 billion facility is a striking vote of confidence in that model. Second, the positioning: IM8 is explicitly wrapping a mainstream supplement business in the language of longevity — a “Longevity” SKU, RCTs, celebrity backing — betting that daily nutrition is the on-ramp to a broader healthspan market.

The caveats familiar to the supplement category still apply. A 90-ingredient formula and strong repeat-purchase economics are commercial achievements; they are not, on their own, evidence of long-term health benefit — which is presumably what the company’s randomized trials are meant to address.
