L-Nutra marked the tenth anniversary of Prolon, its fasting-mimicking diet, on September 24, 2026, and said it has closed an $83.5 million Series D led by Mubadala Investment Company.

The Los Angeles company, founded in 2009 by University of Southern California professor Valter Longo, said its aim has been the same since the start: to give people a chance at 100 healthy years.

What the Company Reports

L-Nutra says two recent human trials showed Prolon to be the first nutrition program to induce autophagy, the cell’s recycling process, and to reverse biological age by an average of 2.5 years after three consecutive cycles.

It also says it now holds 136 patents in longevity and disease remission, has completed more than 40 clinical trials, and is the longevity nutrition program most often prescribed, with recommendations from more than 12,000 practitioners. Studies have been run at 18 institutions, including Stanford, USC, Mayo Clinic, and Harvard, the company said.

Chief executive Joseph Antoun said the work has run for more than two decades under Longo, director of USC’s Longevity Institute, and that L-Nutra wants to be the nutrition company people use whether they are healthy or managing an illness.

Beyond the Five-Day Program

Prolon’s reputation was built on a five-day fasting-mimicking diet, introduced in 2016, the year the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine went to research on autophagy. L-Nutra says more than one million people have used that program.

The company says the platform now also includes everyday longevity foods, medical nutrition therapy, and precision nutrition across life stages. Its healthcare division, L-Nutra Health, offers physician-guided programs aimed at age-related disease.

L-Nutra says it has sold more than a quarter of a billion dollars of product and now sells in Europe, Canada, and Australia as well as the United States, with a growing presence in the Middle East. The Series D, which closed earlier this year, is meant to fund more research and that expansion. Antoun also said the company has donated more than $1.2 million to the Create Cures Foundation.

What’s Next

L-Nutra says the goal for the next decade is to reach 100 million people with the same approach.
