Function has secured $450 million in growth financing from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund, the Austin-based healthtech company announced on July 30, 2026.
The company says the capital will accelerate the expansion of its preventive-health platform, which combines laboratory testing, medical imaging, and personalized health information in a single service.
Background
Function launched in beta in 2023 with the goal of giving members a more detailed picture of their health before symptoms or disease appear.
Its membership starts at $365 per year and includes access to more than 160 laboratory tests, with testing conducted twice annually. According to the company, the tests cover areas including heart health, hormones, thyroid function, liver and kidney health, nutrient levels, inflammation, heavy-metal exposure, and potential cancer signals.
Results are brought together inside Function’s app. The company also offers MRI and CT scans for an additional cost of under $1,000 across more than 200 locations in the United States.
Function says its Medical Intelligence Lab is developing a continuous learning system intended to predict future health risks and provide more personalized guidance.
The announcement follows Function’s Q2 acquisitions of Getlabs’ nationwide network for at-home and office blood draws and SuppCo, a platform for tracking and understanding supplements.
What This Means
The financing gives Function additional capital to expand a model that brings recurring lab testing, imaging, and personal health data into one consumer platform.
Function co-founder and CEO Jonathan Swerdlin said the company’s mission is to help people live 100 healthy years. General Catalyst said it believes Function is positioned to reach millions more people and described the financing as support for its next phase of growth.
What’s Next
Function says the financing will help it bring its platform to millions more people faster. The press release does not provide a detailed allocation of the capital or disclose the financing structure, valuation, or terms.
